Sun City

This is my first draft for 'Sun City', the city where most of our coming game is taking place.

I used satellite views of a small town on Oshima Izu (island west of Tokyo). The original city looks more like a small town, which seemed alright as a starting point to create a game-scale city.

Actually I was trying to solve two problems here.
1) Whenever I make scenes, I lack background scenery, so the idea was to establish some kind of urbanism to help creating skylines / background elements.
2) I thought this might help game design so I integrated the train station (where the rails go...) and the school (small pic, top right)

Needs a lot more detail.

I discovered later that Oshima Izu is the island in 'Ring' (original, Japanese version). If I get it right it is the one island in Japan where traditionally women used to wear their hair the longest.
